Twice the Fanton, Twice the Fun
There’s a double-whammy of my doodlings in this week’s Dandy, as the comic begins its new ‘Strictly Come Laughing’ contest, wherein one of the contenders is my new take on Dandy classic Harry and his Hippo (pictured above, see HERE for more). HOORAY!
As well as that, Boo! continues, and this week the STUPID spook tries his ghostly hand at scaring crows. Oh, you phantasmal fool, Boo!
The last panel of this week’s Boo! is one of my favourite things I’ve drawn thus far – it took me an AGE to do because I’m slow and stupid, but I really liked cramming the page with loads of little gags. See if you can spot them all!
That’s all in this week’s Dandy, out NOW for a MERE £1.50 so go buy buy buy!
Bye-bye!
- Fanton (times two).

Brilliant! LOVE the guilty look!
Nice work on the new Harry and his Hippo. I’m looking forward to seeing how it develops over the next few weeks.
Harry and his Hippo was great! Loved Daredevil Dad too! Both worthy winners!
This week I liked Harry and his Hippo best..
Daredevil Dad would be my second choice..
I’ll see what I think next week..
Don’t like the finger one at all too much snot for my taste..:( (pun intended)
Liked Dr Coo..got the Fez joke at last that is what the Doctor wore recently…kept thinking of Tommy Cooper.:)
So unfair! Why must Daredevil Dad AND Harry and his Hippo both be up for votes?!
I love Harry and his Hippo, a great bring-back to a classic character and you’ve done a real good job! But I also love Daredevil Dad, the story arc looks endless plus the artwork is fantastic! Also Steve doesn’t have a character in the Dandy yet…
It’s so HARD! Why can’t they BOTH win!?
Thank you ALL for the lovely comments, it’s always a bit scary taking on an old character, but glad you enjoyed my attempt!
I loved Harry and his Hippo, but I also love Daredevil Dad… AHH! Why do we have to vote for only one?! I want to vote for both! D: I don’t want one to go.
I know what you mean, Rose! No fair!
[...] this week’s Beano (issue 3588), is carrying a reprint of my first Harry and his Hippo strip, as a sort of advert for the comic’s sister title. I know it’s not PROPER work [...]
