Cowell in Fear
IT’S TIME to bid farewell to the summer month of August – but never fear, readers – for you can say a big ‘HELLO’ to this week’s Dandy, which reverts to its regular £1.50 price again, and brings with it a heaping helping of sunshine*! HOORAY!
There’s more Dave the Squirrel daftness in this week’s issue, including yet ANOTHER appearance by Bill Oddie in one of my strips. I have no idea why I’ve come to draw Oddie so much for The Dandy but hey – he’s a Goodie.
Here he is now:
As well as more Oddie-based larks, you’ll also find another excellent Tiny’s Temper by Stu Munro, Postman Prat by Lew Stringer, Desperate Dan by Jamie Smart and a special Bananaman, featuring a reader-submitted baddie, by Wayne Thompson!
HOORAY!
In other news, I have it on good authority that George vs Dragon shall return to the comic on October 1st, so set your watches/iPhones/sundials for then!
In the meantime, go out and pick up the new issue of The Dandy, out NOW for only ONE POUND AND FIFTY PENCE!
It’s Bill-Oddie brilliant!
- Fanton.
*sunshine not included.
Warning: May Contain Nuts
DAVE THE SQUIRREL is a wanted man (or rather, a wanted squirrel) in this week’s Dandy!
Read all about this sordid episode in Dave’s life, in the latest issue out NOW, priced £2.50. It’d be a CRIME not to do so!

X Marks The Spot
IIIIIIIIIIIIIT’S Dandy day again, which means more comics which means more laughs which means more good times which means more HOORAY!
I’ve got a couple of bits and pieces in this week’s issue, including an X-Factor-based Madvert (extract above), for which I got to draw my favourite, lecherous X-Factor contestant, Wagner. Good times.
Also, an honourable mention must go to Amanda at Truly Ace Design, for employing her mad Illustrator skillz and offering me some dead useful hints in colouring said piece. THANK YOU!
Also this week, there’s another Dave the Squirrel mini-strip – look, here he comes now:
I wonder what he’s up to, the little scamp? You’ll have to buy this week’s issue to find out, won’t you? I’m not telling you here, that’d be daft.
As well as all that there’s the last Sea Dogs by Steve Beckett (hope they return soon!), more Tiny’s Temper by Stu Munro, and another great Postman Prat by Lew Stringer. AND MORE STUFF BESIDES!
So there you have it, The Dandy 3548, out now, for £2.50, with a pretend Blackberry gift included, so you too can pretend to organise your own riots from the comfort of your armchair. Yay!
I think – THINK! – George vs Dragon should return next week (don’t quote me on that!), but one thing I DO know is that The Carrotty Kid is already back online, and enjoying some new adventures, like this one with a distinct Thundercats vibe:
See more of everyone’s favourite vigilante vegetable by visiting his website NOW!
That’s all for now. Get out of here, I’m trying to work.
- Fanton.
